The steamy hit series The Client List, starring and executive-produced by Golden Globe®-nominated actress Jennifer Love Hewitt (Ghost Whisperer), makes its Canadian premiere on Sunday, September 2 at 10pm ET/PT exclusively on Lifetime®. Based on the Lifetime movie of the same name for which Hewitt garnered a Golden Globe® nomination, The Client List also stars Golden Globe® -winning actress Cybill Shepherd, Colin Egglesfield (Something Borrowed, Melrose Place, All My Children), Emmy® award-winning actress Loretta Devine (Grey’s Anatomy, Boston Public) and Rebecca Field (American Reunion, October Road).

Abandoned by her husband, Riley Parks (Hewitt) finds herself struggling to make ends meet for her young family. Taking a job at a day spa, she soon learns that the parlour offers more than just traditional massage therapy. With bills piling up and the threat of losing the family home becoming a reality, Riley finds herself struggling to balance two disparate worlds – one that revolves around providing for her kids and the other around the massage parlour and its special clientele. Keeping both worlds separate is trickier than expected as she’s not the only one harbouring secrets.

With the help of her tough-talkin’ mother (Shepherd), best friend Lacey (Field), brother-in-law Evan (Egglesfield), spa owner Georgia (Devine) and spirited co-workers, Riley learns to cope with the challenges of being a single mother and soon finds herself adapting to her new life of independence.

The first season of The Client List aired this past spring on Lifetime in the U.S. to massive ratings success, delivering Lifetime’s strongest freshman season for an original series since 2009 (among Total Viewers, Adults 25-54 and Women 25-54)* and during its run was cable’s number one drama among Women 18+ in the Sunday 10pm time period.**

The Client List is executive produced by Jennifer Love Hewitt, John Tinker, Jordan Budde, Efrem Seeger, Howard Braunstein and Dannielle Thomas, with Fedora Films and Jaffe/Braunstein producing, in association with Sony Pictures Television.

As part of Lifetime Canada’s inaugural fall schedule, The Client List joins a powerful line up of acclaimed scripted series, exclusive hit reality shows and movies. Other enticing new series coming this fall include: Dance Moms, Dance Mom: Miami, The Conversation with Amanda de Cadenet and original movies Liz & Dick, Ring of Fire and Steel Magnolias. At launch, Lifetime will be available on a three-month free preview in nearly 10 million homes across the country.

THE TSO BRINGS THE HOCKEY SWEATER TO NORTH BAY AND TIMMINS

The TSO will perform for over 10,000 students and adults in its eighth annual Northern Residency.

August 21, 2012 – The Toronto Symphony Orchestra embarks on its eighth annual Northern Residency, September 10 – 14, 2012, presenting both student concerts and public concerts in North Bay and Timmins. 64 artists are travelling on the Northern Residency, including TSO Music Director Peter Oundjian who will lead the public concerts, newly-appointed RBC Resident Conductor Shalom Bard who will lead student concerts, and Roch Carrier who will narrate The Hockey Sweater in student concerts. Three Canadian composers will join the TSO and meet with local students during the Residency: Composer Advisor Gary Kulesha, whose Northern Lights Overture will be performed on the public concerts; Abigail Richardson, whose TSO-commissioned The Hockey Sweater will be performed on the student concerts; and the TSO’s newly-appointed RBC Affiliate Composer Kevin Lau.

After popular world première performances in Toronto, The Hockey Sweater will be featured in concerts designed for students and performed in North Bay and Timmins. The TSO commissioned The Hockey Sweater from Canadian composer Abigail Richardson, who uses the orchestra to create a unique musical version of this classic children’s story. Joining the TSO for these performances is author Roch Carrier, who will narrate his childhood tale of tolerance and hockey in rural Quebec. Five student concert performances will be conducted by the TSO’s newly-appointed RBC Resident Conductor Shalom Bard, and will be performed in French and English.

The Orchestra's 2012 Northern Residency will connect over 10,000 students and adults in Northern Ontario communities with live orchestral music this September. While in these northern communities, TSO musicians will travel to local schools, performing small ensemble concerts designed for young listeners, as well as leading masterclasses for student musicians. During the five-day Northern Residency, TSO musicians will also take part in 48 in-school performances (14 of which will be given in French language), and nine masterclasses for secondary school students.

Symphony-lovers in North Bay and Timmins will also have the chance to catch the TSO in public concerts presented by the local orchestra in each host city (September 11 in North Bay and September 13 in Timmins). Led by TSO Music Director Peter Oundjian, the programme includes Brahms Symphony No.1 and Northern Lights Overture by Canadian composer Gary Kulesha. TSO Horns Christopher Gongos and Gabriel Radford are featured in Haydn’s Concerto for Two Horns, and TSO Violins Amanda Goodburn and Peter Seminovs perform Vivaldi’s Concerto for Two Violins.

TSO Season Presenting Sponsor is BMO Financial Group.

The Official Airline of the TSO is Air Canada.

Tour Cartage Provided by Tippet-Richardson Limited.

This tour is made possible in part by generous grants from the Ontario Arts Council and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.

The RBC Resident Conductor and RBC Affiliate Composer positions are supported by RBC Foundation and the Canada Council for the Arts.

The Hockey Sweater was jointly commissioned by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the National Arts Centre Orchestra, and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.

ReelHeART 2013

“We Run Sh*t!” a never before seen exposé into the deceitful and darker side of nightlife entertainment will officially open  to a graphic spotlight on the underbelly of the Miami club scene in recession fueled America, where a tough, often brutal and a drug and sex entrenched dark side rears it’s ugly head to provide club goers “entertainment”.

Characters in “We Run Sh*t!” are selfish, greedy, egotistical, lazy and cruel, constantly shifting blame, while our heroes try to stay two steps ahead, but seem to fall 10 steps back at almost every turn.

“We Run Sh*t!” is produced by 2010 Toronto mayoral candidate James Di Fiore who is also an investigative freelance writer and hip hop artist.

Co-Directed by ReelHeART 2006 “Best of Fest” Winner Scott Storm, who says of his documentary, “In many ways, the 2-year process of making the movie and working out all the kinks took its toll on all of us. But like any creative endeavor, if you can survive the war, the victory is in seeing the finished product up there on display and watching how the world responds to what you’ve created.”

Asked why ReelHeART 2013 is opening with such a dark “cloak and daggers” documentary, ReelHeART Executive Managing Director Shannonn Kelly explains: “For years, audiences and filmmakers thought we were the “nice festival”, screening films with Pandas and soulful red-headed Vegans. I always explain that sure, ReelHeART means heart, but it also means guts and soul. When audiences see our films, they’re so often moved, emotionally shaken or highly entertained when they get out of a film. They seem astonished. That’s what we’re going for — Feeling something. We want filmmakers and filmgoers to get all their organs involved with ReelHeART films. Your Heart, your Brain, and your Gut. Feel something. And talk about it to everyone you see. In our 8th season, we feel “We Run Sh*t!” says this perfectly for us.”

The 8th Annual ReelHeART International Film Festival runs June 27-30, 2013.

Short and Feature Screenplay Competition rehearsed-cast-to-type Live Reads will be held at night with a Special Opening, Wednesday June 27th. Films start their premieres June 28th and run through the weekend, with Closing Night Gala at 9:00PM Saturday June 30th.
